PPI claim declined.

I've just had my PPI claim rejected on the grounds that I took out my mortgage before 31 October 2004. Before this date, I quote 'lenders were not required to inform you of the existence or size of this commission. As your mortgage falls outside the scope of an Unfair Relationship assessment, the FCA,s new rules and guidance on non-disclosure of commission and profit share are not relevant.
Is this worth pursuing that's my question?

What you describe is a Plevin rejection, not the response to a PPI complaint.

Have you previously had a PPI complaint rejected?

Did you actually have any PPI?

Regardless, since the Plevin Ruling doesn't apply in your case, there is little point trying to progress this.
  • Thanks for your response, it was a PPI complaint that this was replying to. I agree that it looks/sounds more like a Pelvin complaint rejection.
I won't be pursuing this then, the report on the submitted complaint did indicate that there was a PPI Policy covering this mortgage but it was deemed there was insufficient evidence against this policy being mis-sold.

That's why they referred to Plevin then.

Most Mortgage PPI complaints fail, if it's any consolation..
