Hi,
I use Microsoft autoroute 2010 for work, not for the directions but to plan my route.
I can put in the post codes of all the visits I have and it optimises the route for me. I use my sat nav then to get to places.
The program has corrupted though and I really need it or something similar. I don't know how to get just that from my back up copy.
I have found Autoroute 2006 on Ebay, a brand new sealed version, would that work with Windows 10? My 2010 did.
Or does anyone know a free program that I can download to do the same thing?
TIA

Google Maps is free, probably on your Android phone already and does exactly the same job and will do for you far more than Autoroute did or could - traffic, road closures, directions, reguide you if you're forced on a redivert - everything except make the tea.0

Why would you buy 11 year old mapping software? It should work, you may need compatibility mode, but 11 year old maps??
I have some maps if you want, although the M25, M40, M42 and M50 are not on them, but some of it will be useful.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Sorry, not been back for a bit, my brother took ill and died.
I don't need it for the maps, just to plan the route, ie, put the postcodes in and it tells me the best order to do the stops.
Neil Jones, I don't want it to direct me, I have a sat nav, don't want to use my phone for that but thanks.0 -
Sorry for your loss
Google Maps will do the route planning too - just feed it where you want to go on a desktop/laptop and print it out.0 -
Google won't do optimised routes on its own, you also need to use something like https://gebweb.net/optimap/0

Google Maps in its default state (through the website at least) will give you "fastest route" based on current traffic conditions which may not be the optimum route, after all it'll obviously take much longer to go anywhere at 5pm on a Wednesday than it would outside of the rush hour. However if you need to visit multiple destinations en route then yes, Google doesn't quite tick all the buttons in this regard as by default it's a simple A to B route.0

Very sorry about your loss
Google maps does have route optimisation 'under the hood' but you need another site to expose it. I had a quick look and found this : https://gebweb.net/optimap/
You can enter a load of postcodes, choose the start location, then have it figure out the best route between them all it is known as the Traveling salesman problem)
Autoroute has been discontinued https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/autoroute/home.aspx
You might find the odd copy of Autoroute 2013 on ebay I guess0 -
I could only find 2006 on ebay. I didn't know if it would run on win 10. My 2010 did until it went corrupt. Thanks for your help
