Hi all
With black friday coming up I am looking at getting a new laptop. I will mostly use it for photo and video editing. Looking for something like this:
i5 minimum 7th gen
ssd + 1tb HD.
8Gb ram and
1050 graphics minimum
HD screen or even 4 k.
Ideally less than £800
Thanks!
Jo

Run OSX without using a hacked version. Why one would want to do that is another question. What can a mac do that a PC cant ?
Both can run Windows, so for those that like shiny boxes, they can buy a Mac and put Windows on it.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
Thanks all, still looking at the moment as I am expecting to receive a little bonus in high street vouchers soon. If anyone has any additional suggestions, that would be welcome. I almost got the ASUS ROG https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing/laptops/laptops/asus-republic-of-gaming-fx553-15-6-gaming-laptop-black-10157238-pdt.html
Which was reduced to £699 but my vouchers haven't arrived yet and it's sold out now.
I don't have to use my vouchers on it but it would be good as it would give me an extra £250 nearly but that basically limits me to high street like pc world etc. In addition through work I can get up to 8% cashback at pc world on a reloadable card. But it can take up to 72 hrs for funds to become available .
Btw my partner is an IT tech so pc is preferable to mac in terms of ongoing support.
Thanks

Please dont buy from PC world

Im sure your partner has told you this if he is a tech worth his salt0 -
Well I am limited to high street stores or amazon in respect of using my vouchers but I am open to other suggestions.?0

This may be too cheap?

And add your own M.2 SSD.
EDIT: e.g. £45 from Amazon (you said you had some vouchers?)

Sell on at 2 years old for 80% of its new price. Have a battery which at 479 charge cycle counts is still 87% of its original new capacity. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
