Car insurance. Money saving advice needed.HELP

HI.
I am looking for car insurance. I am 34 but only passed my test 10 months ago. I drive a skoda octavia automatic.(which I think is only group 4)

I did have a little shunt in June so have no NCB.

But the quotes I have been getting are ridiculous. The cheapest have been over 2 grand fully comp. Endsleigh quoted me 6500:eek:  . The car only cost me 4500 9 months ago.

Any help or links to cheap insurance companies gratefully received.
Have tried all the comparison sites.

Thanks
Pete

I can't offer much advice I'm afraid except to say I find screen scraper sites ridiculous and I find it better to actually call companies, call as many 0800 numbers as your patience allows.

    Good Luck

unfortunately, if you have had an accident which was your fault recently, then your quotes will be high.

In my experience, the screenscrapers do tend to be quite quite close to if you go direct, unfortunately for you.

Have you taken a look at which companies don't go through the screenscraper sites? I think Direct Line is one.

Adding a named driver who is lower risk can take some money off the premium. If you have someone that could drive the car occasionally it's worth doing.

Have you looked at the cashback websites, like quidco, rpoints? You might get a few quid off as well that way.

Do you really need fully comp insurance?

Legally you only need third party. The middle way is third party, fire and theft.

If you take the latter option, you are effectively self-insuring for damage to your own car.

I don't have particular companies to suggest but would try a few internet sites and see the difference that not having fully comp makes.
