Hi. , Today we received a debt recovery letter for a parking charge. Stating that we haven't responded to initial letters to the address that the car is registered to. this is because we moved out of privous property the week before and yet to change vehicle dvla address. They tracked our new address down and sent a debt recovery letter...Apparently 17minitues over the time on fisral beach car park which I believe to the smart parking ltd ....what can I do ???? thanks

Read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 - all about debt collectors and how to deal with them.what can I do ?
You could fire off an initial appeal to Smart (post #1 from the above sticky), but they could tell you it’s too late now it’s with DRP. However if they reject it and send you a POPLA code - come back.
But, your most important next step is to urgently inform the DVLA of your new address. Two separate notifications, one for your V5 (log book) and another for your driver’s licence, otherwise you’re potentially in line for a real fine of up to £1,000 - and you won’t be able to ignore that! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Hi can you help me with a template? Not sure which one I use and do I need to alter it to suit or just put my pcn no at the top?
Iv got my new driving licence through now and v5 sent off 0 -
go to the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread near the top of this parking forum
read post #1
use the appeal template in blue text , no alterations apart from adding the pcn number and your name amd address0 -
1:the DVLA do not use diving licence info with regard to Private parking tickets
2: a parking Co can only ask for data ONCE per ticket from the DVLASave a Rachael

If you can get this back to appeal stage, this is very easy for a keeper to win, and the NEWBIES thread tells you which template to use.
And alternative is, someone at that old address (NOT YOU!) replies to Smart, giving your new address, and you hope that Smart then re-issue the PCN in your direction which will give you the window to appeal as keeper of the car.
But you say:
How?They tracked our new address downPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Dear Sirs
Re: PCN No. ....................
I challenge this 'PCN' as keeper of the car.
I believe that your signs fail the test of 'large lettering' and prominence, as established in ParkingEye Ltd v Beavis
?????Do I change the above to smart parking ltd v beavis ????? Thanks in advance 0 -
no , because it was PE that took Beavis to court 2 years ago, not Smart
I did say "no alterations" in a previous reply0
