Thanks just bought 4 clamps and ordered a tracker and bull dog.
I presume you have too much time to waste being so unhelpful and flippant. :rotfl:0 -

The Disklok which goes over the steering wheel was always considered best in the olden days.0

I'd make sure I didn't have a big theft excess if I was worried about it being stolen.0

If you consider how many cars there are in your area against how many are stolen the chances of yours being taken are slim.
Add in that you say the type of car being stolen is different to yours and the risk is lower still.
If you had a Golf R or S3 etc then it would be reasonable to worry!
As already stated if you want some additional peace of mind go for a steering wheel lock, personally I wouldn't bother.0 -
It's worth considering where you leave your keys too as a lot of thefts involve the keys being taken in order to take the car.0

Not sure how effective something like a disclock or similar mechanical anti-theft device is going to be on a modern car. I was under the impression that most car thefts on recent cars involve nicking the keys first and that is probably where you'll keep the disclock key.
If the thieves really want your car, they'll break in and threaten you until you hand over all the keys you have, happened to a friend of mine with a Subaru Impreza, but suspect they would be less keen on yours😉
If you want to get your car back if it is nicked, maybe think about getting a tracker installed?0 -
You don't really want it back though.
You either want to keep it, or for it to disappear altogether. What you don't want is some thrashed and battered car returning to you.
I agree on the steering wheel cover, also keep anything worth more than 2p out of view, as you don't want a broken window, or door & lock damage below your excess, because someone has broken in to steal a bag of crisps or a biro.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
