TNC are harassing me! What shall I Do?!

I've read quite a bit here about tnc and also the newbies section but I'm still unsure what to do.
I received a parking charge notice a couple of months ago but I decided to ignore it on the advice of others. Anyway I've recently received a NTK from TCN acting on behalf of P4 parking. I chose to ignore that too. So now they're bombarding my mum telling her she needs to pay up. I called them up and asked them where they got her number from and they said DVLA which is not true as DVLA confirmed with me that they don't store people's numbers. So i have no clue where they got her number from. It might be from the landowner or a third party i guess? They were really rude and agressive with me. They've sent me another letter today saying that if I don't pay £179 by today then they will send it over to door step collection which must mean bailiff.
Now I'm not sure as to how to handle this and it's also really stressing my mum. Do you think I should contact TNC or p4 Parking or the landowner? Shall I just pay the original fee of £65? And what are the chances that TNC would actually send bailiff or take me to court? Any advice would Do! I'm losing my mind over This!!

Who is the Registered Keeper. If it is your Mum then she names you as a driver. Any contact after that is harassment and should be referred to Trading Standards.
As regards bailiffs, there aren't any. Doorstep collection gets referred to the police as this debt is alleged and not proven.
She could get the Police to record that TNC called a number of times and she is in fear of some unknown person calling to threaten her. They may say "civil" but she should ask that the record her complaint against this company anyway. There is a threshold about what companies like TNC can do but there has to be a record of that behaviour which needs to be noted. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. I feel they're driving me mad. I am the registered keeper but I haven't told them I was also the driver at that time. Which is also why I'm very confused as to why they have my mum's number. The car is registered to me but at my mum's address so I can only think the landowner might have given her number to them.
The letters are however addressed to me and they're threatening to send over doorstep collection agents. They're seeking permission from p4 parking to send those agents around. They've also mentioned that p4 parking has followed the BPA code.
Anyway thanks again!:)0 -

What rubbish they speak, they cannot send door step collectors.
There is only one time that bailiffs will call and that
is if it goes to court, you lose, don't pay within 28 days
TNC MUST be treated as rogue traders which must
be reported to trading standards urgently
I would write to P4 telling what their agent is doing
and telling blantant lies and making false threats.
Tell P4 if this goes to court you will bring this to
the attention of the judge.
It would be in P4's interest to cancel this charge
right now before you take it further
Of course the DVLA do not provide phone numbers
and a complaint to the DVLA is in order about P4
P4 are responsible for their agents
In the new year there will be a private members bill
about the parking cowboys.
Tell your local MP about this episode for him/her
to investigate this rogue trader and say this
is proof for him or her to support the new members bill0 -
Your Mum should call the police non-urgent number and discuss the issue with them. She has no part in any dispute as she was neither driver or keeper. She has no liability to pay anyone else's debt (though no debt is owed) and such calls are both unwarranted and malicious - especially where there is a "threat" to visit.
Needs to be down on the police computer as it has to be 2 or 3 calls to warrant action - which TNC will know.
PS Your title says harassing you which they can do within limits but the actual harassment is being done to your mum, so man up and sort it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Honestly thank you so much! You've put my mind at ease. I was just worried that they might send someone around. It's just been really stressful for both me and my mum. I will do what you've outlined in your post.
