    Morning all

Oh Redruby I hope you feel better soon. Be kind to yourself in the meantime.

No news from me but it's ok. No news is good news as far as I am concerned. Especially concerning my friends Son who is 18 and is in the armed forces stationed in Iraq. Fortunately the recent quake hasn't affected him.

    Today I must

    [Strike]Steam clean hard floors[/strike]
[STRIKE]Input meter readings to see how much we owe or are in credit[/STRIKE]
    [Strike]Vacuum throughout
    Prepare tea - Roast chicken[/strike]

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a good day all

I had a good night's sleep and woke up early so put out the recycling boxes to be collected today and also got two large cardboard boxes full of folded boxes out of the garage and dragged them outside. Fingers crossed they get collected.

Looks like a cold day so not planning on going out unless I have no choice. Think porridge might be on the menu to warm me up.

    RR

I hope some toast helps settle your tummy and makes you feel less wobbly. Take care of yourself.

I still have parcels to arrive with presents and dds have also ordered things to arrive here so will need to keep an eye and ear out.

    Hugs to all

  • Morning all,

Another quick one from me. Played football last night. Done some ironing.

Tonight my mums coming over for a bit so I can help her with some Xmas shopping. I'm going to make a stab at making apple and blueberry pies.

    Omelette for dinner.

Hope everyone has a nice day :)
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

A quicky from me this morning expecting a royal visit later, they should land about lunch time, so sarnies needed, ham and egg mayo with chives. I got a couple of creme brulee tarts yesterday for dessert, must remember to take them out of the freezer to do the topping.

Lousy nights sleep, 5am last time I looked at the clock, the alarm went off at 7.45, I slept on for another hour....yikes.......fire cleaned out and relaid, will start the sarnies in a mo and then need to water the various plants and shove the dyson over the sitting room carpet.

    Have a good day.....................

    Morning all,

Glad you are a bit better RR :)
Sounds like the ideal birthday meals to me HollyH :rotfl:

I met up with my cousin yesterday and we had a good natter in the coffee shop in Dun elm.She is the closest cousin in age to me,about 18 mth older and we share a lot of the same interests, we even did the same job but at different schools so always have a lot to rabbit on about ;) We need to arrange a meet up with 2 other cousins too,in December.

I bought some new paints and felt tips and other craft bits for DGS,he's 4 in a couple of weeks, and a new snowflake punch, mine is getting a bit bu&&ered now. Both DGC like crafty stuff. They saw the C cards I've been making and wanted to do some, kept em quiet for ages :D.DS also wanted me to get a scrapbook to put all their drawings etc in.

We had rather a strange concoction for tea last night which involved 2 trays of pigs in blankets DS had bought and put in the fridge,he hadnt realised they were frozen, neither did I until I got them out to check the date and saw 'frozen in Mar 17' so they needed using up,but they were good :D So the mince will be cooked tonight,I dont think it was fully thawed yesterday anyway.

Just popping up the road to see my elderly 'Auntie' (really my mums cousin)-if she's in that is.For an 85 yr old she has an active social life :)
Wet, & gloomy here, but warmer than yesterday.
    Enjoy your day xx

Hi everyone, it's wet and gloomy here and if the weatherman has it right, it's only going to get wetter !
Mr Fix It had his appointment and as expected clinician was running late again, don't know why as we were first in . Anyway it's my turn early tomorrow but it's only annual bloods, so nothing to eat or drink after 7.30pm tonight :(. After the appointment we went to local garden centre for coffee and a cake and bought some toffee for Dad for Xmas, he likes the one with the hammer. Had a £4 off voucher so didn't cost much :D.
    Rant alert !
Just been interrupted by daughter of elderly neighbour, it appears a delivery man had left a large box in the greenhouse nextdoor. Stupid person left a card but also put it through her letterbox  ! If the daughter hadn't come to collect some of her mothers clothes ( she's still in hospital ) we might never have known it was there. Why they didn't leave it at the back of our house remains a mystery. It was addressed to DD but my house is on the delivery sheet as they are at work, so I expect it's something for one of the DGC for Xmas. And calm............ think happy thoughts.
Anyway, I have done a load of washing and I have another one waiting to finish, but will have to put it on the radiators to dry. The DW has also finished so I will empty that in a moment.
Tea tonight will be sausage and chips for Mr Fix It and I will have sausages with leftover roasties, veg and gravy.
Right, enough waffling from me, I'm off to empty DW.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs all round.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

    Cheers chums

    Evening all.

Now I’m on the ferry back to the mainland. My day has been long and weary though very successful. Meeting my students face to face has certainly helped to smooth the struggles on both sides.

The view from the ferry terminal of the Paps of Jura was spectacular , the tops peeking out from a collar of mist. My favourite distillery sits exactly opposite the Paps so I had to squeeze in a visit there too.

By the time I get home I’ll have been up for 14 hours so shall fall into bed almost immediately.

I hope everyone’s evening is peaceful.
