Vehicle tax mess up
Sold our van yesterday (they are picking it up today) and just sorting through the documentation and I just realised that the vehicle tax lapsed at the beginning of the month! I totally thought, like with the car, that it was on a direct debit. I’m having a major panic now - do I have any options or will I just have to wait for a penalty notice from the DVLA?

Don't sweat it. New owner will have to tax it from the beginning of the month anyway and you'd have to be extremely unlucky to get chased with a change of owner happening so soon after the start of the month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
