Playstation 4 Rapid Fire controller and online multiplayer question

I've seen that Rapid fire controllers are available (which in a way is kind of cheating when playing online)...

... are these controllers banned for playing games like Call Of Duty online ?

I've looked on Sony's and Call of duty website but could not find anything at all. Thanks in advance

No they're not banned as the maximum rate you can fire would still be within that which you would achieve doing it by mashing the button but you'll get called out as lameass in the lobbies.

Rapid fire buttons have been on controllers since the average computer had 3k of RAM.

As above it wont help increase firepower, its timed and possible to actually fire faster than the controller is set for.

The rate limit will be set by the game. If it only allows 1 shot and another cannot be fired until he first one hits something then rapid fire wont help.

It also hinders games where ammo is limited.

Press your fire button faster if you dont want to be able to use rapid fire. But when your fire button needs replacing you will wonder if a rapid fire button would have saved it.

Just about to build a retro arcade controller panel and an autofire will be included, even if i need to make one with a 555 timer.
