Ebay Fees, Buyer wanted to cancel their bid but I was too late to notice.

A buyer contacted me within the last hour of my listing coming to an end and said they wanted me to withdraw their bid but because I didn't actually log in until my listing was over I did not get their bid withdrawn. As a result I have incurred fees for them supposedly making the purchase is there anyway I can get these cancelled?

you can mutually agree with the buyer through ebay and you will not be charged.Just under £20,000 in debt and struggling!!0

Depends on whether they gave a reason for backing out.
If it's a lousy one, I wouldn't make it a mutual, I'd give them a strike.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

I don't think you would have been able to cancel the bid anyway with under 12 hours left, the 'buyer' should have done it themselves.
I'd try and get them to pay, if not file an unpaid item dispute. It's risky filing a mutual as if they complete it wrong you won't get fees refunded..0 -
Thanks for all the responses.
They seem genuine and I don't want to raise a dispute. Therefore I just wonder is there any way I can get out of paying the seller fees as the item did not sell and I am going to relist it again?0 -
The *only* way to get your final value fees refunded is to open a dispute as per the earlier responses. Also, as already stated if you go for a mutaul NPB the buyer can prevent you gettig your fees returned, but if you go for the full NPB you will get them returned regardless and the buyer will get a strike.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
