Weird scenario at the Bank

The idea of reviewing several weeks of multiple security camera footage might not be something the bank staff want to do in these circumstances.
They should remove and replace the offending item though.0 -
To be fair, not noticing and dealing with an item of furniture with racist graffiti on it is pretty poor on the part of the bank.
Asking for compensation for it is a bit tacky though.urs sinserly,

I thought it was just me that felt asking for compensation was a little uncouth. I wonder what the outcome will be, I would say that the graffiti in question was pretty awful and at the very least the bank should be left a little embarrassed.0

Goodwill gesture? Really?
Shall I go walking around the streets of London and point out all the graffiti to the each of the Borough Councils and demand compo as the words offended me?0 -

I'd have offered him a dummy and rattle.
Bank branches are usually cleaned by a cleaning team, so the staff may not have noticed. So, if the bank hadn't been told what are they to do about it? Even when they know, depending on how the graffiti was done (etched, marker pen) it could take a bit of time to get it removed - we had similar vandalism at work and had to wait 2 weeks. There was no way to cover it up in the meantime.
Some people need to grow up.0 -

At the offending table of course!0 -
I still think the bank will want to do something especially if it was particularly offensive to a particular group.0

Well, yeah, it's on them as a business to not have racist graffiti in their branch. It's their job and responsibility to not have such things. Not doing something about it is remiss. Complaining about that is fine. Asking for money is absurd.
It'd also be perfectly reasonable to complain to the local authority if you saw some racist graffiti out and about, because it's their job to clean it up. Asking them for money is also absurd.
Saying "if you're offended, get over it" is all well and good (and I'll wager comes from people who have never had to deal with endemic racism in their lives, by the by) but I'd hope we all have enough civic pride and belief in being civil to others to recognise that having racist graffiti left up is something worth complaining about.urs sinserly,

It is absolutely worth complaining about, but sticking your hand out for money...0
