What info is a trustee entitled to?

Hi, my cousin died last will and his partners trustee of the will - I’m named a beneficiary but as he passed away before her she is the only person to receive it (if she went first I would have had a share). I don’t care I no longer receive anything as I wanted him to spend it all & enjoy his last year so wasnt expecting anything but the family didn’t want to upset his partner by asking to see the will (make her think they doubted her) so asked me to ask for a copy of the will as I’m entitled to it apparently. His solicitor is the executor so I asked them for a copy - they then told his partner straight away that I asked for it and it’s caused slot of issues - should the executor have told the trustee this? A lot of people are telling me no (other members of the family have wills with them & are now worried about confidentially!)

You don't have a right to see the will until probate has been obtained, by which time it will be a public document. The only reason I can think of why the solicitor would have told her was perhaps to ask her for permission to provide you with a copy,0

you say trustee but trustee of what exactly?
Are you sure the partner was not the executor and they have handed it over to solicitors?
If the estate needs a grant of administration(probate) then the will will be a public document.
You probably were not entitled to see the will if you were not a beneficiary.0 -
What you have said is confusing. Until a will is admitted to probate none of the beneficiaries are entitled to see it.Hi, my cousin died last will and his partners trustee of the will - I’m named a beneficiary but as he passed away before her she is the only person to receive it (if she went first I would have had a share). Are you sure the solicitor is the executor? Perhaps they are simply processing the Probate application, then it would be quite normal for them to inform the actual executor/trustee of your request.
When I have been an executor, I have thought it courteous to send copies of the will to all beneficiaries, but this is not a requirement.0 -

The OP is not a beneficiary.0 -

Just shows how protracted paragraphs can make the reader blurry-eyed.0
