There could be CCTV at the car park? It might be worth asking for a still of the car leaving the car park or better still, entering the car park?
You are right, it would not be an open and !!!! case, but it may make them think £500 to put it right is better than arguing it and it possibly ending up with trading standards etc.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. The OP failed to check the car at point of collection which is an easy point for the company to say that it could have happened at any time. Taking a photo with a mobile phone would have given lots of verifiable data: date, time and usually GPS data which would have put the OP at the scene.
Heathrow valet parking like to ask you to sign the collection form before they give you the keys. I refuse and check the car before I sign anything.
So yeah, when they collected my car, they had me sign this slip, which was filled in by the driver, he looked around the car, noted the mileage etc.
When handing my car back, the driver didn't bother, even though he had this slip on him. I requested this slip from Gatwick Parking Spaces, which they provided, and it is clearly left blank on the return section, and I didn't sign to say I was happy with the condition of my car.
However, all they keep saying, is that in line with their T&C's, blah, blah..0 -

So if the car gets damaged on the way to their parking area, their insurance covers it but once in their control and off the public highway, any damage is down to you.
I don't know if that would stand up in court but for a company to try to evade responsibility like that is a clear sign of what they are like.
If the above is legal and correct what is the point of trying to claim damages off them, they will say it must of happened in their parking area and down to your insurance.0 -
I'm really precious of my car, and won't just hand over the keys to anyone, however, I used an online portal called Airport Parking Genie, bit like Go Compare, that compares all the parking companies out there.
On the face of it, Airport Parking Genie seemed OK, their reviews good, it's the company they put me in touch with that were absolutely rotten.
Like anything, wish I'd read the reviews now, but was a bit blinkered at the time.
However, doing a bit of online digging tonight, they are attempting to change their name from 'Gatwick Parking Spaces' to 'My Gatwick Parking' obviously in an attempt to cover up their awful service.
But actually you did! Would you hand over your house keys to someone you found on the interweb while away on holiday? I wouldn't. And I wouldn't use a park and greet company either!
As others have said - try MCOL0 -

No, not at all.
We all makes mistakes, however, I've owned and run a forum myself for the best part of 10 years, and trolls like yourself, I take a disliking to.
People come to these places for help and advice, not to receive sarcastic and arrogant comments like you've given in this thread.
Like I said, either help, or jog on.0 -

Excuse my ignorance here, but, is this forum merely here, for people just to point out your all your bad points? I mean, most people are here, because somethings happened, or, they're looking for help / advice, no?
Some people here have been really helpful, thanks, and I can't thank you all enough. I'll use your advice moving forward.
Others, seriously need to get a life.0 -
We've had good and bad experiences of this. The worst being when we left the car at Gatwick (I don't know which company it was now) and went on holiday. We booked for it to be washed and valeted. Anyway, we got back and found that they had used that horrible silicon spray everywhere on the interior (leather, BMW 5 series...ouch) and left scratch marks all over the bonnet where some untrained so and so had washed the car with some kind of brush that scratched. We were ;lucky' enough that we noticed it straight away, took photos and wrote it all down on the form we had to sign. We went to BMW got a quote to repair it (well over a grand) and basically told the parking company they had to pay or we would take them to court...and they paid.
I think you should get an estimate for the damage and do the same. The worst they can do is say no. Although, if you go to court, I'm not sure you could prove the damaged happened whilst the car was in their care. I'd try being a nightmare customer for a bit and see if they pay up.Debt 1/1/17 - Credit Cards £17,280.23; overdrafts £3,777.24
