Stubhub Fees
Options

I recently bought tickets to a concert for myself and friends who later told me they couldn’t attend. I decided to list the tickets for sale on ‘getmein’ and ‘stubhub’
the tickets quickly sold on ‘getmein’ so I tried to remove them from ‘stubhub’ but the option was not available to remove from sale. The tickets subsequently sold also in stubhub so I immediately cancelled the sale as no money had exchanged hands.
I received an email saying I would be charged a £25 administration fee and also could be charged the difference in cost to make it right for the buyer the amount of which was undisclosed. I decided to cancel my card so that the undisclosed amount could not be charged without my knowledge.
Today I received an email from stubhub saying they had previously tried to contact me (they haven’t) and that payment has failed and they would like to charge me £157
Where do I stand in not paying this as I was unable to delete the listing resulting in Stubhub selling my tickets?

You then couldn't cancel that instruction.
That means your tickets were still for sale and obviously were sold.
So far, I cannot see that Stubhub have done anything wrong.
You need to establish why you could not cancel the instruction to sell the tickets.
For example, did you agree that it was 'non-cancellable' at the time of instructing them? Was it a failure of their ssoftware?
Whatever it was, the tickets remained for sale and you knew that.
What did Stubhub say when you told them you couldn't cancel the listing?
You need to read their T&Cs and better understand what you agreed to when you instructed them to sell your tickets.0 -
They publish instructions for deleting a listing, did you try and follow them?

If the option wasn't there then the tickets had already sold. The charges are in-line with the T&Cs you agreed to when you made the listing.0 -
When you tried to delete the stubhub listing, had the tickets already sold?
If no, what date/time did you try and delete the listing, and what date/time did the tickets sell?
You will need to prove to stubhub that you tried to delete the listing before the tickets were sold following their own procedure.
If you cannot supply sold tickets, then rather than let the buyer down, they source alternatives for the tickets then bill you the difference which is fair enough.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
