Unoccupied property - need insurance

Hi,
We currently live in rented accomodation and the landlord covers the building insurance.
We have contents insurance with Barclays.
We are due to complete on a house on wednesday and solicitor advises me that we need buildings insurance from then.
Barclays wont provide insurance as it will be unoccupied until early march as we are gutting the place - putting in new heating, kitchen, extensions etc.
Does anyone know of a reasonable insurer that will cover us ? - we will be there most days as we live about 4 minutes drive away.
I am due to go into my bank (lloyds) tomorrow to ask if they will provide cover.
Kind regards

Yeah, one of the larger high street brokers definitely does cover for unoccupied properties. They normally require you to visit the property regularly and don't cover stuff like theft or burst pipes.
