Cheap and cheerful hotel Barcelona?

Looking at booking a trip to Barcelona next October and trying to find accommodation within budget.
We're a family of 3 in one room, as well as the in laws in their 70s, and would be looking at €100 per night, per room for the hotel maximum. We don't need anything fancy but must be clean, with our own bathroom. No dorm rooms.
We plan to visit the big sites like camp nou, Parc guell sagrada etc so would like to be in walking distance of a metro station or as close as possible to at least one attraction.
Also open to apartments, etc too but know there are some restrictions and don't want to be caught out.
Ive had a look at booking.com etc and found a few that would be suitable but when researching further they were in el ravel and I've read it is a little ropey and unsavoury so want to avoid that.
Anybody got any recommendations?
Thanks

There aren't any. Demand gets in the way of good value.
Bilbao, Porto and Lisbon are much better value for money.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
We stayed near El Putxet metro station a few years ago. It was only a few stops into the city centre, with a regular service. We got a lot more for the money by being only slightly out of the city centre. If you are going for a week rather than a weekend, this is definitely the way to go.
Have a look on AirBnB as well as trivago and booking.com. You may be able to find apartments rather than hotel rooms.
If you go to Sagrada, go on a bright, sunny day to fully appreciate the stained glass.
The Gothic cathedral quarter is lovely. Please explore the cloisters and look at the fab carvings.
MNAC - museum of national Catalan art - has some really interesting collections.
Eating out everywhere in Barcelona is expensive, even outside the centre. Make the most of self-catering and picnics.0 -

We stayed here last year, it was a lovely hotel, not too expensive, with a metro straight to/from the airport over the road and a great tapas restaurant next to the metro where the locals eat.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Have a look in the Glories and Sarria areas of the city, and consider getting a 2 or 3 bed apartment. There are lots to choose from in those areas within your budget.
Glories has great transport links into the city centre, is close to Sagrada Familia, and benefits from the Glories shopping centre with lots of dining options downstairs at El Mercat.

Just make sure to buy your T10 transport cards at the airport, and you'll get around very easily.0 -
Thank you for all your comments it's much appreciated.
We had originally looked for an apartment but I thought I'd read somewhere that airbnb was banned in Barcelona and to wary of booking an apartment. Obviously there are other apartment providers so we can look at other options but want to make sure we look for something legitimate.
The advice regarding areas is very useful too. Happy to be based a bit further out and travel in as long as there are eateries nearby.
Will have a closer look now. ThanksLea

We stayed at Casa Consell a couple of years ago, short walk from Passieg de Gracia station which is pretty central and on a direct line from the airport. Excellent place - a sort of hostel environment but en-suite rooms, self service breakfast, free tea/coffee/toast anytime, lovely terrace for dining/relaxing with a beer.
Can't remember how much it was but sure it was under EUR100 for a room for 4.
But I wouldn't be booking a year ahead in the current climate - wait to see what the political situation is!0 -

A rooftop pool , great for Barcelona.
I quite like hotel torre catalunya, being so big they sometimes have good last minute prices0 -
I can recommend the Hostel Martinval. We had a 3 bed room, plenty of space, en-suite. Very clean, nice area and great location for centre .0

Thanks again plenty for me to look at.
We're unlikely to book until after Christmas or perhaps later if as mentioned the political climate changes but I just like to have an idea and options in mind first.Lea

We stayed here as a family of four, but it has three double beds https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3361707 it's in El Borne, in the oldest part of Barcelona, tucked away down a side street but close to lots of bars and restaurant and the Picasso Museum. One of the beds is a loft bed on a platform in the lounge, another room is quite small but the aparment has a large kitchen diner and good sized bathroom.
It was well equipped with everything you might need down to toothbrushes (including oranges to juice and coffee!) The host was excellent, sending on a charger we left behind.
The Santa Caterina Market is 5 minutes away (much less touristy than La Bouqueria) and Jaume I tube station is 400m away.0
