Wanted - home phone handset that withholds number

If you can track down one of these Orchid boxes or simliar, it allows you to add a prefix to any outbound numbers dialled. The intention is to allow you to route calls via a low-cost 'prefix', but it would work for adding 141 to the outbound number. They are sometimes known as Least-Cost-Routing devices. They did produce cordless DECT phones with this feature built-in for a while.

It's an handset feature and not network-dependent. works on all handsets to the best of my knowledge.0 -

Thanks lammy82 - might be worth tracking down.
It seems, unfortunately, clear that the hardware option is difficult/impossible. Thank you to those who made a genuine attempt to answer my question.0 -
If you're still on the hunt for a phone that lets you withhold your number on outgoing calls. I know that Gigaset Phones have this feature. It's called "All Calls Anonymous" in the user manual or you can just set it for the next call (Next Call Anonymous). As a new user I can't post links but few phones on here have this feature:

I'm sure there are a few models from Panasonic as well...0 -

:spam: or not? It seems an odd choice of thread necromancy for a first post for it not to be.0
