Valspar 500 paint - anyone bought recently?

We've just had 15l of valspar v500 blend mixed atnlocal b&q after being convinced it's better than dulux easycare. Came home and looked it up and am horrified by really bad reviews and even watchdog getting involved about the bad smell.
B&q won't take it back unless "there's a problem with the paint". Decorator is coming tomorrow.
Valspar say the bad paint should all be fixed and new batches should be fine so I'm wondering if anyone has bought it recently and still had problems?
Hesitant to lose £120 by buying new paint straight away so thinking to risk it and hope there's no issues!!

I’ve bought the premium blend recently. No problems with it, great finish in two coats albeit on new, freshly mist coated plaster. It’s the third time I’ve used it without issue.
It’s prone to pickup if you over roll or brush it. Get it on quick, lay it off gently while wet and don’t be tempted to roll over bits that look patchy on the first coat. It will come up fine on the second. If you miss a bit it touched up invisibly.0 -
Thanks I don't think this one is premium0

My neighbours used Valspar and couldnt get rid of the smell this year. In end B&Q refunded her money to use Zinseer bin to cover over the awful smell. They told her to go to Screwfx as they stock it and they refund her, which they did0

Yes we have. I love Valspar paint as it goes on so much nicer than dulux and the colour range is amazing. No problem at all with a smell, painted one day and then the following day carpet laid and son happily sleeping in his new bedroom.Determined to save and not squander!

Yes I've used it. Really impressed, really good coverage and lovely colour.0

Yes, just finished my entire hall and landing areas using 3 different colours, It was great, went on really well, fantastic coverage, much better than Dulux, in fact it's covered in almost 1 coat with the second only needing a light going over. No nasty smell.
Last month I did my son's room with 2 colours, again great coverage, no nasty smell there either, I then used the leftovers to do my very small loo with limited ventilation, again no smell there.
Earlier in the year I did my daughters bedreoom with a Valspar colour on the bottom, covered great, and Dulux white on the top, what a nightmare, 4 coats to cover.
So a total of 6 different shades and mix of finishes in the last 6 months, none of them had a nasty smell.
I wouldn't use anything different now, it makes the job so easy. And the paint is actually the exact colour of the little cards.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

same as above,
Love the stuff, we mist coated, one coat of matt white and then a single coat of Valspar 500 in a colour matched F&B colour (no32).
Have used in every room since.0 -
By coincidence, our decorator is hard at work at the moment.
I asked him what paint I should buy - and he said if I wanted the best then it's Johnstone's Trade.
They have a mixing service, so I just told him what colours I wanted and he bought it trade price.0
