card protection

had a lloyds visa card for years and used to pay a percentage of total bill price every time i used
it was told it was for fraud theft etc i never asked for it . would this be classed as ppi

  • If you were charged a percentage of the balance each month that sounds like PPI as that’s how it worked. Card protection, for theft etc was an fixed annual or monthly charge and it’s not the same as PPI. Might be best to speak to your card provider for clarity.

    It doesnt sound like ppi if as you say it was for fraud protection

    What you're describing is a Sentinel type card protection product. The bank would have written to you some time ago about this and sent you a form to complete. If this is the product you had, you are now out of time to complain.
