electric nightmare

my electric supply keeps on being erroneously transferred. this occurred because the management company of our 9 apartment block used my meter number instead of the communal meter in a portfolio to a broker
I have only just managed after a nightmare 2 years to revert to my original supplier only to be told my supply has again been transferred to another supplier. they will not transfer back as it is said to be a business account
Worse still is that i have received an electric bill from the first erroneous supplier for £2500 pound.
that company refunded the communal account with 900 pounds so goodness knows where they manage to charge me 2500 pound
i have been paying my original supplier with gas and electric money who will not refund me the electric money as they state it is for use to pay electricity and the surplus has now disappeared from my account
I am trying to liaise with 3 electric suppliers who never answer phones or return calls and a totally incompetent management company who have never admitted responsibility or apologised for their error
i have raised an complaint with one very helpful employee of the original company -the one i chose to be my supplier s0 i have to wait and see. the stress and worry of this is grinding me down. does anyone have advice

It should not take anything like 2 years to revert an erroneous transfer.

It's always best to contact your old supplier in the case of an erroneous transfer, as they are the ones losing out and have most to gain by getting you back. As long as you had a domestic supply contract with them, then the erroneous transfer customer charter will apply, irrespective of whatever the new, erroneous supplier says. You only need to contact one company.

Where an erroneous transfer has occurred, you will be put back into the position you would have been in had that erroneous transfer not occurred. Therefore you will not be expected to pay any new supplier that came on the scene because of the erroneous transfer any money for any energy consumed ... but you will have to pay the old, origianal supplier for that usage.

Yoiu appear to be on the right road now by having raised a complaint with your old supplier. Follow that supplier complaint procedure.

Just highlighting this bit in case the problems have possibly been started by someone picking a supplier and choosing them, instead of first contacting the actual supplier and transferring properly?
