Snowboard insurance only

Hi,
Sorry, I wasn't sure if this should go here or in the insurance thread.
I'm currently traveling in Japan long term. I have full regular travel insurance with one provider but I may be going snowboarding for a few days at the end of my trip. My current provider doesn't cover winter sports so I need to find someone who'll offer cover just for 4 days of slope time. Anyone got experience of good suppliers at a reasonable rate?
To put it into perspective my current provider charged about £160 for 4 months' travel, but is asking for over £60 for the winter sports addition. Not ideal when I don't need flights, baggage cover etc.

I'm confused by the two parts I've made bold which appear to contradict each other.
The fact that you've already left the UK will complicate trying to arrange cover now.
I think some of the companies that do backpackers type insurance (eg World Nomads) will provide cover if you're already travelling. I know you can include winter sports on their travel cover but I don't know if they would just cover winter sports on a 'stand alone' policy.
TBH, if you can get the extra cover added easily to your current policy for £60, I'd be inclined to go with that rather than spend hours of my trip trawling through insurance policies trying to save a few £.
Yes, it's not cheap (what is your definition of 'a reasonable rate'?) but insurers see winter sports as high risk, that's why they charge extra to cover them.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I've used them for last 2 ski trips. Make sure you read the terms though as 1: you are already in Japan, and 2: don't just assume its the winter sport package you need. we went summer glacier skiing in Norway, and this wasn't in the winter sports option, there are add on packs. They were very helpful though, and very well priced.0 -

Under the 'Criteria for purchase' section in their policy wording, it states that the policy is sold on the understanding that you have not started the trip. The trip is defined as a journey that begins from your home.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
