SSE gas engineer deliberately fitted dangerous part

The British Gas filled in a form D01477 if that is a RIDDOR report0

Why did you not contact GasSafe immediately and what have they said now you have? They'll normally do a site visit very quickly.
Not sure what your past job has to do with this, I doubt you've been involved in any HSE prosecutions.0 -
Is that not just the heat shield the inner flue looks intact.
It is unfortunate that you didn't get gas safe out for a truly independent report0 -

I did not contact them immediately as I did what everyone should do with a consumer complaint and that is to take it up with SSE first.
Also, normally with Gas Safe you say?....it has been over 10 days since contacting them and I have not had any response from them whatsoever either.

You dont know me, so how can you say you doubt that I have been involved in HSE prosecutions, in fact i have been involved in numerous such prosecutions...that is what my last job has to do with it...I know what I am talking about when I mention negligence and fraud...that is what the Police do!

If that is the case, why could daylight be seen through the badly cut area? That was the reason it was put at risk, and my understanding of this risk was that fumes could seep back into the house from the outside through this gap.
Gas Safe can still visit, the part is still retained.0 -

Then why are you posting on here? Use your previous knowledge to resolve the situation.0 -

Why are people on these forums now so focussed on slating and questioning posters on here. I asked for advice and what I get is mostly irrelevant hindsight statements.
I won't even lower myself to answer your post powerful lotus, other than to say ..what does the word "former" mean to you?0 -

Fascinating given how few HSE prosecutions there are, and that they are primarily investigated by the HSE's own officers.
Which offence(s) do you suggest the engineer is charged with, and what sentence are they likely to receive?0 -
Has it now been made safe or is your mum without a boiler0

Not slating you and I don't particularly think my comments were irrelevant. After all you did post:You dont know me, so how can you say you doubt that I have been involved in HSE prosecutions, in fact i have been involved in numerous such prosecutions...that is what my last job has to do with it...I know what I am talking about when I mention negligence and fraud...that is what the Police do!
So with all that previous experience you mentioned, seems like you would already have the knowledge and connections to take this forward.0
