Gas Fireplace - knob not turning

I have a gas fireplace. Gas is coming through, but the knob (on the right of the image) isn't turning.

Is there an easy fix to this? Google has not helped at all and I don't really want to pay to get someone out if it's something I can fix myself.
Thanks!

That fire looks completely knackered and potentially dangerous. Get a gas safe engineer in to at least check it over.0

Is it a push in and turn knob?0

Yes it is a push in and turn knob0

Looks like it’s missing parts. Looks worse for wear too- think it’s time for a replacement0

Please don't try and fix it yourself; there are gas engineers for a reason - it's dangerous stuff. Get it fixed properly.Debt 1/1/17 - Credit Cards £17,280.23; overdrafts £3,777.24
