    Your complaint has failed.

On what basis did you ask them to look at it again?

Unless you provided them with new and compelling evidence not in your original complaint, this will be a waste of time.

On a positive note, they will be refunding the undisclosed commission..

The PPI would have been itemised every month on a separate line of your statement. So basically, you complained that you never checked your statements?
  • Ive received nothing from them as yet no letters nothing their deadline was the 6 th of november to make a decision on my complaint . I’ve only had one phone call asking me details and nothing more . I’ve rang and ask the investigation team to call me to discuss my complaint but they haven’t . Basically I’ve had loans car finance and took a mortgage out 3 weeks after the credit card was taken out and none of my other accounts have ppi I didn’t no I had it at all and my argument is why would I have ppi on a credit card and not have it on a 64k mortgage ! Obviously I didn’t take it out and it was just added to my account . I didn’t need it as I’ve bern in the same type of job for the last 15 plus years and the only time I was made redundant I was paid a redundancy and was in employment straight away .
  • In 2003 I was 19 years old I didn’t notice it to be fair but I also refused it on my mortgage because I felt I didn’t need it so surly if I had a mortgage with them as well I’d of had it on both or at least the mortgage if I wanted it . But not only that how did it ever get cancelled as I didn’t cancel it as I didn’t even no I had it , Halifax have said they don’t no why it was cancelled

Present solid evidence that this was the case and your complaint will doubtless be upheld..
  • I’ve asked them how it was taken out and all their telling me is that it was probably done in branch as in 2003 it probably wouldn’t be done on line . Don’t think they no what their doing they were trying to tell me that I had 4 credit card accounts with them and when I insisted I’ve only got one and it’s the same one I’ve had for years they then said what they meant was I’m on my 4 th card . They haven’t even told me how much I’ve paid or anything just that the commision is £440 . It’s as if they know nothing regarding the account ie amounts charges how it was opened etc . So don’t no what I’m supposed to do to get details to prove other then the fact I’ve been with 3 mortgage providers had 2 personal loans 2 car finance list goes on yet I’ve never had ppi on any of them other then this one credit card so surely that says a lot . How would I get the agreement from so long ago ? Thanks for advise
  • Does ppi cover things like pregnancy maternity leave ?

No, only involuntary events like unemployment and sickness. Maternity Leave is irrelevant to any PPI policy.
  • Ok thank you . I’ve just halifax credit card and they can’t tell me anything when we’re or how I took the account out they even said that the ppi isent even showing on their system . Will have to wait and see if the investigation team actual do call me fingers crossed they do as I’ve requested a call to discuss things

The people who deal with inbound calls aren't the people who reviewed or calculated your redress so will not know the technical details of your complaint.

If they have calculated you are owed £440 then they have definitely found PPI on your account. It also means they have completed the investigation and found no reason to contact you or were unable to get through to you.

Sounds like if they do call you then it will be as part of a re-review.
