EA giving wrong information about my house

Our buyer pulled out this week , so I asked the agent to make sure all the other people who were interested are aware it's back on the market.
However, today I've found out that a friend of a friend rang for details and was told it was sold! They mentioned to the other person (people I don't see much and can't contact easily) that they were disappointed! Don't know how to bring this up with the agent, as they almost certainly won't have taken a number.

We had a similar thing with our EA when renting out our property.
We had to continually chase thenm to do a professional job and asked a friend to go look at the flat to see how they were marketing the property.
They did not do a very good job.
The property did get rented out after a few weeks more
I have had to accept that they were not very good and I will use another EA in the future.
Sorry to hear about your situation and I cannot offer any real advice other than use another agent.
Hope you get it sorted out soon:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

I would confront the EA with the information, they need to be told that this is not acceptable and you want your house back on the market FULLY!
If they are not able to do this within an acceptable time period (make sure you check back) then I suggest you ask to be let out of your agreement.....if you are still in your Sole Agency period, so you can list it with another agent. My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say
Ignore......check!0 -
Yes, I'll contact them tomorrow, hopefully a regular member of staff will be in that can help. I just happen to have a link to this would be purchaser, makes you wonder how often you lose one through poor communication within an agent. I deliberately chose a small family one to avoid this kind of situation.0
