I had a mortgage with the Woolwich in 2004, and when I looked at my old bank statements
noticed that a direct debit to a company called Fortis was taken out monthly.
Is this a PPI or something else

Two issues.
1 - its not PPI. its life assurance.
2 - its a pre-regulation sale and Woolwich never sold Fortis plans.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
