Changing linked account on Birmingham Midshires Internet Saver

Hi,
Did anyone give a clear answer here, because I have the same question. That is, once your account is up and running, can you change your D.D payment to a different account, one that doesn't have a cheque book. In my case I want to change it to a Bank of Scotland Vantage account.
Yes at least 1 person has given a clear answer that you can do this.
(I CBA searching for the posts)0 -
Birmingham Midshires
I am in the process of opening an account following the MSE item about it but I have to say it is strange and alarming the amount of time it takes to send a user name so you can activate your account. In these days of scams the time they take causes stress and worry particularly as they say five working days when they mean ten and they say they send it out by first class post and they don't, they apparently use UK mail.
During this time you have no access to your account.
My deposit was taken from my bank on the 7th November and I am still waiting for this letter.
Very unhappy about it and have complained.0 -
Yes I am. Sent original cheque beginning of November and not taken from bank account. Despite several calls chasing it up and being told they were very busy still nothing. I've had no user name, password or activation details so don't trust putting anything else in.
In the time I've been waiting I've been able to open a Charter and Paragon Easy Saver and pay in with no problem so whenever it is finally opened the first thing I shall do is close it.0 -

I activated my Birmingham Midshires account last week, but it's slow moving money in and out, so I decided to open a new account with Tesco. (I already had two accounts with Tesco). Opened the account on Monday. Funded it. Now I can't take any money out! I'll give them a call, but it's frustrating. Seems to be a common problem.0

They don't allow withdrawals for the first 48 hours after opening the account. Apparently it's a manual action and they can get backlogged but a phone call usually sorts it out. I don't move much into it until I can withdraw0

Thanks for that.
Its been more than 48 hours now. I transferred money in on Monday. Luckily I don't need immediate access to the money, it's just an inconvenience. Its bad though, as the money shows as available and it's meant to be instant access. I didn't spot anything in the T&Cs about this.0 -
I opened a BMidshire account on the 9/11/17 and I'm still waiting for a user name. Nearly, a month later.
I presume the user name is that last thing to arrive?0 -
I assume the Direct Debit means you can do regular deposits from the linked account, but can you also do regular withdrawals? ie set up something like a standing order to pay £x every month to the linked account?0

No.
For withdrawals you specify an amount and date. "Note that the date of your withdrawal must be within the next 30 days".0
