New Sofa 2

I have found a new sofa that I would like to buy for my house. This is it: http://www.ahf.co.uk/diana-2-seater-manual-recliner-sofa.html

When I negotiated a 5% discount from my house; I was armed with information relating to recent transactions from the Land Registry website. I am not really armed with any information with regards to this sofa. Should I be asking for more of a discount? The reason I ask is because I have never bought a sofa before. I want to be firm; but fair.

You have already negotiated a 5%discount
Just buy it. Thats what most people do .though why you think buying a sofa is anything to do with the land registry is anyones guess ...

I am saying that I negotiated a 5% discount when I purchased my house because I was armed with information from Land Registry (past sales on the street).

I am asking if it is normal practice to negotiate on sofa purchases.

Yes. 10% normal in major chains (not that I would visit one again!). Smaller retailers depends, but probably similar figure.

Just try it, do you really need the opinions of those on an internet forum?

I know what you mean. However, I guess you could say that about any question on here. I find the opinion of others can be very useful.

Is it worth waiting until Black Friday in a few weeks. Are there likely to be some good genuine deals?

Not sure how Black Friday usually effects sofas so thought I would ask.
