Oops, seemed to fall off the face of the earth again for a bit there. Things are going OK. I've had my start date and contract through for new !job, and handed in my notice for the current job. Debt-busting is not going as well as I'd hoped though. I seemed to have had a lot of unplanned expenses recently, and I've been so busy I've done a rubbish job of meal planning and therefore spent too much on food.

I have a weekend at home this weekend, so need to clean the house, meal plan around what we already have in, and try not to buy too much food. I also need to go shopping for a full new work wardrobe. I currently just wear jeans and jumpers, but new job has a stricter dress code and I only have one set of smart clothes (which I use for interviews). I'll start with Primark and see where that leads, but could really do without the expense right now!

Really need to sort out a joint account for me and OH so don't have to constantly have to ask him for shopping money.

I'm back on the wagon diet wise, and am nearly back to where I was a couple of weeks ago. Just 8lbs more til my goal weight.

It's the 6th March, and I have about £150 'spare' cash left. I'm under no illusions that it won't last a second. This is a very expensive month :(

Oops, I really failed at keeping this debt-free diary!

Things not so great really. Still in debt by approx £400, the stone I lost in the new year has piled back on, and I just feel generally overwhelmed by everything I have to try and do. Anyone ever just feel like they're being stretched in a million directions?

    - keep fit
    - eat healthily
    - keep the house clean
    - keep the garden weeded and watered
    - do a good job at work
    - make sure my horse is happy, healthy and exercised
    - plan meals, cook from scratch, do the food shopping to make sure we don't run out of stuff
    - make sure I get out on my bike lots as i'm doing 100 mile ride for charity in september.

It's just exhausting. I feel like I have no routine, am completely disorganised and just getting from one day to the next... something needs to change!

On the plus side, new job is going really well, and now the new NHS pay deal has been agreed I should be getting a pay ride, including backdated pay from April. I don't know exactly how much but maybe £100 or so? I also finally sold a bike I've been trying to get rid of for ages for £65 so that's a tank of fuel. Got a few other bits and bobs to put on ebay, but not sure I'll get much for them.

Did a big shop tonight - spent £40  anyone else feel like food shopping has suddenly got a whole loot more expensive? Anyway, hopefully my haul will last us for the next couple of weeks.

My hayfever is so bad at the moment :( feels like my eyes are made of sandpaper and my head is full of cotton wool.

Didn't manage to get out on my bike yesterday. It was too late by the time I got back from the supermarket, so I did a bit of housework instead, and made chocolate biscuit cake for my OH. He'd asked me to try and get some 'free-from' treats, but Morrisons doesn't really do the nice ones like Sainsburys. So I thought I'd just make something myself.

This morning I spent the £65 I'd got from the sale of the bike. £55 on petrol (!!), and then the other £10 on rubbish in Tewco this morning. Oh dear :(

Tonight I need to pay my livery bill (hoping it won't be too much), and try and go for that bike ride. Although it's blowing a gale right now so will have to see if the wind calms down.

  • Yeah you might want to wait till the hurricane dies down, my other half has just got off a flight in Newcastle the entire plane cheered and applauded the pilot when they landed lol

Well done on the new job.

Try some green tea 2-3 times a day it doesn't taste the nicest but will help with the weight loss, add a bit oj cordial to it.

Oh god I hate flying so that sounds like a nightmare

I hate the taste of tea, so don't think I'd be a green tea fan. I'm good at drinking lots of water though:A

TGIF! Was up early this morning to disinfect my horses stable. Now I can't get the smell off my hands... hoping nobody at work can smell it!

I can't believe that it's the 15th of June already. It's gone very fast. I'm also worried that there is still a lot of June left, and I'm £400 into my overdraft. I should be getting £100 from Nationwide at some point as I did their refer a friend thing with Mum. I also need to try and find some things to sell on gumtree.

There shouldn't be many expenses left though. Just one more livery bill and maybe a teeny bit of petrol. Oh, and I need to buy a wedding card/present for my friend who's getting married next weekend. I'm a bridesmaid, but luckily it should be zero expense. All food drink is provided, and we're staying over at their house.

Decided not to cycle last night as it was just too windy. Instead I went for a lovely 3 mile walk on my own. Down and along a river and back up a very steep hill through the local park. I felt good when I got back - never underestimate sunshine, fresh air and gentle exercise for a boost.

Tonight will definitely be a bike ride, then will need to rustle up something quick for tea as it'll be quite late. Might end up being pasties and beans. I have the day to myself tomorrow but not sure what I'm going to do. The weather forecast looks horrible which is a shame as I desperately need to do some weeding in the garden.

I feel completely defeated right now. I'm haemorrhaging money left right and centre, I don't think I've ever been this overweight, and my mood is just so low. I need to pick myself up and dust myself down, but I'm so exhausted that I might stay in a heap on the floor for a little while and have a rest.

This weekend wasn't too bad. Got a few jobs done: made 5 individual cottage pies for the freezer, made a lasagne, hoovered the whole house and did all the washing, and sold my old mobile phone. Yesterday morning I went for a lovely ride on my horse, and then yesterday afternoon we went to visit with OH's family. What I didn't do was any exercise at all, nor did I watch what I ate. Honestly, I';m very worried about fitting into the bridesmaid dress on Saturday. I just need to stop eating like crap, but I feel out of control.

At least I had a shower and washed my hair. Honestly at the moment stuff like that feels like an achievement.

Keep you chin up Katie its easy for me to say I know but try to stay positive.

Keep exercising I know it can be hard but that endorphin buzz from exercise will lift you up. If I can help anyway re diet etc or training the offers there?? Drop me a pm I am not a dietician or personal trainer etc but I have competed in bodybuilding, and powerlifting. Diet and nutrition is a baby of mine. This time last year I was about 18stone at 24percent bodyfat, I am now around 15 at half the bodyfat.

Is it too nosey to ask what the money is going on?? Is it the horse?? A lass I work with has a horse and I know she pays out a fortune on livery and feed insurances etc

I see your selling stuff are you doing anything too boost income ie doing surveys, or say using topcashback. I know survey and cashback earnings can be hitty miss but i will give an example ie re me i was brasic ie my account was down to pennies with no overdraft at the weekend, i then had a saviour ie 11.50 coming in from top cashback. It wasnt loads but that bought me some time until my oh was paid who lent me 20quid.
