I'm terrible for reading and running at the moment MeandO - I am thinking of you and sorry to hear the news about your mum. Once DS is a little older I'll try and get back to actually posting regularly. Sorry to hear about your mum. We had a pretty large scare with my mum recently, thankfully she got through it, but it makes you see how fragile things are.
You're doing well on your sales. I had twigged it is a 5 week month in April too - just to make life more difficult. I find every penny that comes in is accounted for straight away, and there's never a penny left over!
I hope you enjoyed your trip this weekend! It's nice to have a little break sometimes.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
just catching up after a while away, well done for pushing forward.. I'm a bit older than you but feel the friend thing is a biggy. my friend circle has reduced a lot over the years, and I feel i catch up with people less than quarterly. my work has always been chaotic, now my attention is

Thanks for your posts all, hope the move goes well moneyfordreams and hope your Mum is now ok MrsSave.
I'm doing ok on the money front so far this month and am keeping spends to a minimum. I am currently on a mission to stretch out the groceries that we have in the house rather than go and buy anymore as DS and I are away for a few days over the holidays and DS is also away with his Dad for a little while. I haven't actually spent any money on groceries since buying stuff for our weekend away (and that was paid for with the £45 in cash that I had in my purse), so my grocery budget is still untouched. Good thing, as I have lowered it a little bit this month to cover the shortfall elsewhere.
I made a small sale of £5 this week. Was supposed to be £8, but the guy came to the door with two £5 notes and I had no change, so just let it go for a fiver to save the hassle. I've used the £5 and rounded it up to make a small OP of £6.44 to tidy the mortgage balance up.
The new mortgage rate should kick in on 1st April, so looking forward to seeing the lower interest on my account.
The £15 item I'd sold AGAIN turned out to be someone not local who never intended to collect, but wanted me to post, despite the listing saying collection only. I still have it, will try again to sell it sometime.
Our weekend away was relatively cheap (for me!). We took picnic food for lunch the first day and snacks; OH paid for our evening meal and filled the car up with diesel for the return journey and our breakfast was included with the stay. I topped up DS's spending money by around £11.50 and bought a drink for £1.50 which DS and I shared as we were really thirsty but I'd left his drink in the car on one occasion, so only spent around £13.
It was my birthday in the last week, and I've kindly been given some gift vouchers to spend which will come in handy. A couple of them can save me money off a grocery shop and one is for 'home' things so I can pick up some bits I would like/need to replace in the house from that shop.
I'd like to get the bathroom painted over easter, thankfully, I already have the paint so will not involve and further spends. I also need to take a black bag full of stuff I have to the charity shop, including a few of the items that I've previously tried to sell which haven't shifted and free up the space in the spare room.
Not much else to report, hope everyone has a lovely easter weekend xxMortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

We popped to Asda to pick up a few essentials and a couple of YS bargains after DS's swimming lesson last night - £8odd spent, but I used the giftcard I'd received, so cost me nought and there's just under £2 left on it.
DS is with his Dad tonight so I'm going to work a bit later at work to make up some time and then have a leisurely browse around the 'home' shop which I was very kindly given a voucher for. I need a wipe clean table cloth to protect my new table and some table mats, so hopefully I'll find some nice ones there.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,706.16

If you are where I think you are that Asda brings back bad memories!! Is the car park pay and display? We shopped there when's ds1 was very little, and had no idea it was pay and display. We completely missed all signs, and ended up with a parking ticket - a pretty expensive Asda shop that day :rotfl:
