DWP requesting another medical report?

I’ve submitted my MR pointing out that for some areas I scored 0 points but in the nurses blurb at the start she had stated that I needed supervision/assistant/used an aid.
Today I missed several calls from an unknown number and it turned out to be ATOS or whatever they’re calling themselves these days. So I called them back and they said they didn’t call me and transferred my call to the DWP.
The DWP couldn’t explain why ATOS called but did say that they had requested a review of my medical assessment and I may need another, shorter, assessment to clarify some of the points raised in the assessment.
So I called ATOS back and they said that they don’t need to see me and they’ve already completed a new report and sent it to the DWP.
Has anyone ever came across this before? How can they rewrite the report without my input? The original report was almost unreadable!

I've not heard of this before but in my oppinion it's a little like havig a paper based decision, although you've already had an assessment. Shame your report wasn't chosen for audit, if it had those errors could well have been spotted and put right before being return to DWP.
There's a delay for exactly this with my daughters report. Good luck and i hope they change the decision at MR stage so you get what you deserve. This should never have happened in the first place.0 -
I don't have any advice, I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're having to go through this again, and so soon after the last one. Hopefully you'll be one of the 'lucky' 20% who has their decision overturned at MR.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

It transpires that they've written to my neurologist and asked him how much input I had into the letter he wrote. I had an appointment today and he showed me the letter and his reply where he explained that he based his letter on previous consultations, medical test results and notes made by other doctors recorded on my electronic medical record.
I really don't know what's going on here, the DWP lady implied that she expected me to be called for a second medical.
I'm preparing for tribunal, I hate PIP and its whole implementation. I never had any of this nonsense when I claimed DLA because there was no failed nurse trying to prove themselves blocking me from my award.0 -
That's absolutely ridiculous Jen.
I've been saying it for years - tribunals should have the power to fine the DWP for absurd decisions.
I can understand a more rigorous assessment, and mistakes being made, in less clear cut cases or with variable conditions. But a case like yours should be done and dusted quickly and easily.
It's also disturbing that they seem to be doing some kind of analysis to see if they can get away with disregarding medical evidence which doesn't bode well for the future. I can see DM headlines ahead 'x% of claimants tell doctors what to write in letters to get benefits'.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
