Barclays Bank Codes Changing 11/12 Nov 2017

My Barclays bank account branch codes are changing this weekend 11/12 November as part of the official separation of private and corporate banking. I have various letters about this saying I will not have to do anything.
To date I have not been told the new account numbers, nor issued with any new credit and debit cards or a new cheque book. I assume this will happen in due course? Anyone know what is timescale for issuing these?
Are there any areas where I would need to take action myself to notify some payee of the changes? Is there an idiots guide online for Barclays customers like me who are affected by the changes?

Hi I am a Barclays customer but have not had any personal notification about the impending changes.
I did read about their changes to retail banking ,which included a reference to new sort codes but I thought that account numbers were to stay the same.
I see that online banking is unavailable from Saturday night until Sunday afternoon so they are obviously still working on it.0 -
As a general rule if your account is impacted and your sort code changes then it works in the same way as a current account switch - payments to the old details should find their way to the new ones.0

I had this letter last week. There is really no need for you to do anything, Barclays will accept payments using the old sort code for 36 months and will inform your payroll, etc of the change. They will also inform the recipients of any direct debits you have set up, council tax, energy company etc.
If, after 36 months, the companies involved have failed to update their details, Barclays will inform you so that you can contact them directly.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
As for you debit card(s) and chequebook, they will be fine to use until they are renewed.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Blocks of sort codes are changing only.
Sort code/Account numbers usually use Luhn validation, so only certain sort codes can be work with certain account numbers.
You'll likely find they still work (for credits) for an extended period since it's an internal transfer rather than the CASS.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

No, it's to separate retail banking from investment banking, aka ring-fencing. Retail banking includes both private and corporate banking.
It's nothing to be particularly concerned about.0 -
My barclays sort code has changed as well. The account number remains the same. I received my new debit card with new sort code yesterday. Surprisingly they also send a PIN letter, which is quite odd because the PIN printed on it is the one i am using now.
you can find everything in the letters they sent0 -
I received a message, via the Barclays banking app this morning, say that our sort code has now changed and can be viewed online. If there is a card associated with the account, a new one will arrive within 4-6 weeks showing the new sort code and with a new 16 digit number.
I’ll now have to think which retailers hold my card details and change them, Amazon for instance.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
What is your source for this claim? Do you / did you work for Barclays?Sort code/Account numbers usually use Luhn validation0 -
Mine changed in October, it has been totally painless.0
