An EU vote has failed to resolve a controversy over the use of glyphosate, the world's biggest-selling weedkiller.

Good, saves me having to bulk buy for the moment :money:Numerus non sum0 -
I don't like uding chemicals, but I've got 5 lites of Rosate 360 in the garage for diluting. Sometimes it's the only sane way forward.0

I do not like using weedkiller but needs must at times. I have stocked up on this (purely because I found a cheap supply) so now have quite a stash. I expect it to last the rest of my life tbh!YNWA

With the price they are, no one 'likes' using chemicals, and on an urban postage stamp garden they'd be largely unnecessary, but there are situations where they make sense.0 -

I find salt a good plant killer on my drive and edges; I used it to kill an Elderberry bush, and to my surprise it worked wonders.0 -
The media is so biased towards "organic" farming and gardening - if all farmers did what the BBC's gardening programs promote, we'd probably all have died of starvation long ago!! Regarding the EU and glyphosate it seems the whole research paper into it possibly being carcinogenic was extremely dubious to say the least - have a look here and draw your own conclusions:

I've just found some sodium chlorate I'd overlooked, if anyone wants to send a lynch mob my way.
I do try to garden organically but make an exception for the Japanese Knotweed. Don't think companion planting will quite do the trick there. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If you would like to keep the right to use Glyphosate weedkillers please can you can let your local MEP know how you feel by making a quick visit here:
