Bank of Scotland One Credit Card

I have this card. I recently went down again to enquire more about the card and been told that if i used them overseas, i will be charged a flat rate of £1.50+2.75% on purchases.

Isn't, one of the reasons you have a CC is to use them when you're overseas? Any help?

    Possibly you are confused?

    BoS debit card charges £1.50 + 2.75%

    BoS credit card charges 2.95%

    for overseas purchases.

If your point is you'd rather not pay any commission, then take a look at Nationwide.

I was quoted that by the guy in a branch, so obviously he doesnt know what he was saying! No idea why he is employed by BoS! :rotfl:

Btw - Is there any place here where i can check who provides 0% interest on overseas purchases cos there isnt any Nationwide branches close to me.

    So, can anyone help me:

    1. When it says 15.9% typical APR (variable) - what does it mean? How much is that monthly, do i get charged if i settle the payments on time?

    2. 2.75% on balance transfers - what does it mean? and then it also says 0% on first 10 months!?

    3. 0% on purchases for 3 months, so what happens to purchases made in month 4, 5 and etc?

This might be easy question for some of you, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

15.9% is the rate for purchases and balance transfers after the promotional rates have ran out (after 3 months for purchases, 10 months for balance transfers)
2.75% fee if you transfer a balance
So as with any credit card if you pay your card off off in full each month, you'll pay no interest

Don't try to do purchases and balance transfer at the same time, that's what they'll hope you'll do, then you'll be making purchases and they'll charge you lots of interest on them while allocating the payments you make to the 0% interest balance transfer!
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)
