Ditch the landline?

Mobile = £7.50 per month
Land line + broadband = £20 per month

I can get a 30Gb and unlimited calls n texts(£14 per month), Includes £48.00 cashback by multi-redemption, with 3, 12 month deal.
I use more than 10Gb, probably less than 20Gb

I can run my PC at home from my mobile, how will that compare with my standard broadband from Plusnet? I use wi-fi for my home computer, does that have a maximum 'speed'?
I live in Leeds, I am guessing that area has a good signal, not had any issues.

i've pondered it in the past.

    Also search for MiFi.

    or one of these:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EE-OSPREY-WHITE-MOBILE-BROADBAND-4G-EE-WiFi-MIFI/202097787473?epid=1928652056&hash=item2f0df78251:g:mqgAAOSwYwJZ9kC~

You put the sim it in and it give you WiFi at home.
or for that matter in your car or on holiday
so just connect to it like your BB router.

Only snag is you can't make use of any minutes on the sim.

They do fetch a lot of money, and it might be easier to use your phone

If you get a good 4G connection at home, speeds will be better? than standard broadband.

Run a speed test at home using your phone (obv while not connected to Wifi)

Can you use all of that allowance as tethering? If so and you have a good signal then looks worth doing.

My last mobile created a wi-fi hot spot, no need to remove the sim; I assume most mobiles do this. Or I could connect it to my PC via USB.
My BB needs renewing, so I could give it a try.

It's a good move as long as you have a reliable signal and you know you won't use more than 30GB per month.

The £14 per/month price for 30Gb and unlimited calls n texts, I guess that's only for the first year?

Yes. Three's website says the 30GB plan includes 30GB personal hotspot.

My broadband usage was around 21Gb last month, 1Gb roughly on my mobile.
Who knows what the prices of broadband and mobile data in 12 months; there has been talk of un-coupling landline and broadband.
