Thanks again all. Some of the Fire reviews have put me off a bit, I also see that some models don't work with Chromecast. Having recently bought a telly (I haven't had one for years and years) I'm keen to maximise its use and casting is something I'm looking into, new toy and all that!

I certainly don't mind paying more than the Hudl cost me for something that works well and makes the most of the limited wifi here but reinvigorating an old Hudl2 may be worth thinking about too, the version of Android used on these is compatible with Chromecast. I do wish Tesco hadn't stopped making them!!

    Thanks folks.

i fully recommend the samsung tab A 10.1.
i replaced an ipad with this and expected to be disappointed, but it's brilliant. good battery life, excellent screen and the 'widescreen' shape makes it ideal to read pages in portrait orientation and equally as good to watch a movie in landscape.

on offer new at around £179. a real bargain in my opinion and i have had mine over a year and it's been heavily used. no more over priced apple products for me thank you.
