I know there are other threads on this, but mostly old and I think many recipies have changed in recent times. Also this strictly shouldn't go on the OS board but it's a pleasant place so ...
I used to buy a couple of brands of PB but have noticed they have changed and now have added palm oil and/or sugar, humph.
I don't buy often, as it's a treat, but wondering if Meridian tastes good? As it is palm oil, sugar, and salt free which is what I want, though I'd be ok with a small added amount of Sea Salt. Any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

My fianc! loves nut butter and says pip and nut is the best brand. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

If you have a food processor, make your own, you can make it exactly as you like to have it, with no additives.
I use 350g of roasted peanuts and blitz them in blasts, scraping down in between till it’s the consistency you like - I use unsalted peanuts, but you can use salted if you like.Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

We use the Meridian cashew nut butter and almond nut butter in satays. They are very nice but not exactly cheap. Have recently bought Tesco own brand cashew butter to try as a replacement.Make £2025 in 2025

I love Whole Earth, but we don't eat a great deal of peanut butter.0

Pip and nut is by far my favourite. The kids in my house prefer it to meridian too0

I buy Meridian, my favourite! Have never seen pip and nut so cannot say if it is better but I will look out for it! I don’t find Meridian has that claggy gloopy feel, if that helps!0

Aldi’s whole nut is lovely with no added sugar and is excellent value.
The best selling brand Sunpat is the pits!0 -
Thanks for replies.
IslandMaid - I have tried to make it in the distant past as you suggest but it always came out dry, suppose the quality of nuts is a big factor.
Whole Earth - I am avoiding this, as it has palm oil in it.
I have never tried Pip and Nut but perhaps will give it a try (it has a little salt but nothing else, which is fine) and also the Meridian.
Regarding the crunchy version of Meridian is it dryish?
Pip&Nut and Meridian and both easy to buy locally and will look out for a sale.
Thanks0 -
Cross-posted, I don't often go to Aldi but could you tell me the ingredients of the whole nut PB?
