Contacted by Arch-Hall re:PPI

I received a call from Arch Hall in relation to making a claim for PPI that I will have paid prior in entering a trust deed (scottish IVA) back in 2005.
It all sounds ok but when things sound ok it is often the case that is isn't.
I am apprehensive to fill out the forms if I am honest. I have asked the question - if I get nothing do they still charge and was told absolutely not. Fair enough the '% they take is quite substansial but i'm not sure I care. It just brings back an awful time in my life
Has any one got any advice about reclaimming PPI after coming through an IVA or trust deed in my case or have had any dealings with them before?
Many thanks in advance

Any redress will go to any unpaid debts remaining - but you will still need to pay the claims company from your own pocket.

    Was everything fully repaid?
  • No they weren't fully repaid

Which is probably true if your complaint fails and nothing is "repaid".

However if your complaint was successful and a refund was made, it could be used to repay any outstanding debt(s). The claims company would want their pound of flesh and would charge on the full amount of any repayment, even if you actually received nothing.

You could end up in debt to the claims company!

Don't use this company. or any company.
Usually [these days] you won't see a penny [although they may give you some of the interest portion back.
If you want to complain, do it yourself.

If anyone uses a company where they were in default of the credit, they redress goes towards the debt owing and you end up paying the company with money you don't have.

  • Thank you for the comments. It's just a nasty world we live in and people are always looking for a pound of flesh. Plus it has brought back an awful time in my life of which I am ashamed.
