Hi there i sent my ppi claim to the ombudsman about 3 years ago now. I recieved a letter around the 3rd October to say the bank have decided to make me an offer after initallynrejecting my complaint. The ombudsman said they have decided to make an offer because the comission was more than 50% of the total cost in my case. The letter also states if i wish to reject the offer i should re contact the ombudsman by 18th october which has already passed. However i have still not recieved any offer from the bank. I havnt had any calls or letters regarding an offer.
I have emailed the ombudsman to ask what haooens now as i was told of an offer but have not recieved one. I also tried to contact lloyds today but they are conveniently having phone line issues so im unable to speak with them. whats the normal time for an offer to arrive after agreeing with the ombudsman to pay out something. many thanks

That sounds more inconvenient, than convenient.
Try contacting Lloyds through Twitter. It's often quicker. However, the flurry of speculative Plevin complaints is slowing down service across all lenders at the moment.0 -

anything upto 6 months.
There is a delay on plevin payouts because of the backlog. It will come in good time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). They haven't upheld your complaint, they are offering you redress according to Plevin.
If a complaint is rejected, they have to see if the commission was greater than 50% ish. If it was, you get money back, if it wasn't, you don't.
Plevin only applies to rejected complaints.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
No, they are going to refund only any undisclosed commission over 50%. This means you original complaint has failed. It won't therefore be an "offer".traybonoaholly wrote: »I recieved a letter around the 3rd October to say the bank have decided to make me an offer after initallynrejecting my complaint.0 -
it states on my letter from the ombudsman that they are making me an offer. says it in black and white. but it also says should i choose to reject the offer i should do so by oct 18th. how is it even possible to reject an offer or payment when you havnt recieved a letter to confirm anything from the bank, only the ombudsman but no amount was stated in the letter.0

It's an "offer" only in the sense that you can reject it, not that's possible to somehow negotiate for more...traybonoaholly wrote: »it states on my letter from the ombudsman that they are making me an offer.
Inform the Ombudsman that you have yet to receive any letter from the Bank and take it from there.0
