Reading what you want to do I think that FF schemes are not for you IMHO.

Your timing is not great as I mentioned earlier MBNA have withdrawn a lot of their Airline FF cards so earning big numbers is reduced.

Do you have a partner that can also get Credit card sign ups?

They can earn their own miles Plus you can refer each other to get more.
