Student union card

Can anyone tell me how old you have to be to get student union card. My daughter is 15years old in full time education at a community college, is she old enough to apply?

  • I agree about the NUS Associate card. I had one myself for a year.

However, the ISIC (International Student Identity Card) does basically everything that an NUS card does and more, since it is accepted worldwide. I had one of these last year. It is therefore useful when one goes on holiday, to get into places at a student price. The ISIC card lasts about 15 months and costs £7 (whereas the NUS card lasts 12 months and costs £6) and can be obtained from any STA Travel branch or from the web site at http://www.statravel.co.uk/

I didn't have to pay for my nus card ???

if you don't have the nus card for the relevant uni then you may not be able to gain access to the various facilities

I can't remember the specifics but I think you need to have an affiliated (to a uni) card to get access to other uni facilities. then isic card doesn't work for that in every case as it only proves you are a student not a member of the NUS (crazy but true and possibly out of date)

we get an nus card from uni for free which is our library card and things.... but it can't be used to register online with it.. you have to buy a "proper" one for that...
