Seller not posted my item

I purchased an item from a seller with 100% positive feedback. The listing ended on Sunday afternoon and as I was the winning bid I made my paypal payment straight away. It is listed as estimated delivery by 10th to 11th November, but the seller hasn't entered the tracking number on ebay. I always enter my RM tracking number no matter if the buyer has paid me £10 or a £100. My item is being sent by RM economy delivery and cost me £4.

What?
Its not due yet so how do you know its 'not posted'?
what if they dont have a tracking number?
what do they list as a despatch time?0 -
It's only the 8th. Estimated delivery is 2-3 days away.Zebras rock0

Exactly, so it is likely that it was on a long dispatch date. Selling on Sunday and posting out on Wednesday or thursday is only a 3 or 4 day stated dispatch time. I'm currently showing a 3 day dispatch time purely while I sort of my late defects, and looking at other sellers 3 days doesn't seem unusual.
OP eBay estimates are notoriously tight, but if it is coming economy delivery signed for then eBay say that usually takes only 2 days, so the difference between that and your estimate delivery time is the sellers dispatch time.
The other thing to remember is that if a seller is getting tight on their late defects, and I picked up 5 overnight even though they were all sent earlier than stated, then eBay suggest that not adding the tracking to the sold page prevents these automatic lates from appearing. I will be doing the same today, I will be unlinking my business account and not adding tracking details until such time as my incorrect lates are removed.another 'buyer improvement' that penalises sellers for assisting their buyers by adding tracking, instead we have to protect our accounts by not notifying the buyer of the tracking details.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Does the RM service have a tracking number? Contact them and ask.
I bought something last week and was a bit miffed that it wasn't posted for four days but after a reality check, its just a used CD, it didn't matter. Some people are selling a few items as a sideline and as long as they dispatch within their guidelines its fine by me.0 -
You're confusing two things: actually posting the item and adding the tracking number on ebay. The seller may well have posted it and not added the number - just because you diligently do so for every sale doesn't mean everyone else does. Find something real to worry about and stop getting so het up about an item which is still within its delivery window - posting messages here won't make it arrive any quicker! Contact the seller if you need more info.0

Does the seller offer same day or next day dispatch? if not, why would they have posted it by yesterday? Not everyone is sitting on the edge of their chair ready to rush off to post an item!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0

Dispatch times are a PITA...
As soolin mentions a lot of sellers put 2 or 3 days so they don't get defects. But when buying something i need quickly im looking at the estimated delivery and several sellers may state 1st class delivery but some delivery estimates will be a day or so and others 3 or 4 days.
They may all arrive on the same day, but sellers maybe risking defects if they put short delivery times.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It is a worry of mine that buyers don't understand dispatch time and go only by the stated service. It is not uncommon for me to have a longer dispatch set, I holiday a lot and also often work strange contracted hours and have to account for not doing a post run on some days. The most common thing I encounter is where I have a dispatch set of say 3 days for a buyer to pay extra for the 1st class option rather than use the included 2nd class and then email to say 'I paid extra for 1st class so this can go today as I need it urgently'. It really irritates me as paying an extra 60p for 1st class doesn't change the fact that I am on holiday and have turned my shop back on with. 3 day dispatch as I'm not home for 2 days.
I don't know what sellers can do to get buyers to understand how dispatch times influence delivery times. Add to that the nonsensical eBay estimates where items are sent instantaneously by magic carpet, and frankly we are doomed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I feel the OP deserves a neg for not despatching a reply in 24 hours.0

Maybe 80% of sellers I have bought from have sent by Signed For and never uploaded the tracking number.
If I'm in every day as is currently the case, then it isn't a big deal.
Previously I'd get annoyed as I wouldn't know whether the item went to the sorting office or got lost or hadn't arrived yet.0
