    Morning everyone,

Cold and bright here, the flat has one of those Nest heating controls and apparently it reacts to movement so not on a timer, am not convinced by it and we had the fire on last night.

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the National Portrait Museum and then wandered around the city just seeing the sights, today we are planning to visit the castle and, if time, the Botanical Gardens.

Glad that you enjoyed the birthday meal TA and have fun tonight.
Thoughts are with all those struggling with worries and woes.

Have a good day folks x
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Bright but very cold here, washed and dried towels yesterday, also managed to do some sewing.

We are out for tea this afternoon, so poached eggs for supper.
  • Morning everyone,

A cold and frosty morning. Thankfully it's dry.

I wasted half an hour last night waiting for the ice cream van. I heard it come into the estate, so I got my jumper and shoes on and had my keys in my pocket, ready to leg it out the flat when I returned. So I stopped making my dinner and spent 30 minutes checking out the window for it return. It didn't. Vanished. So I had to get my sugar fix from Aldi.

Been to the gym this morning and I've got football tonight which I'm really looking forward to. As always.

Since most of you are early birds (many not through choice) do you agree with the proverb; "early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise"?

Lainey - enjoy the rest of your trip!

Hi chums dark damp and grotty looking outside at the moment a real November day. Snap camelot i too had my flu jab yesterday but my arm was OK just got a slight sniffle this morning which the nurse said was likely as its a triple shot type vaccine this year.

TA sounds like you had a lovely evening a nice touch of Italy in the middle of the winter .

H/H along side your To-Do list write a Been -Done one, :) makes it go a bit quicker when you see what you have achieved :)

We came forth in the pub quiz last night but had such a nice laugh it was lovely to see some smiley faces.

This afternoon I am off to my monthly U3A meeting and our talk is about women's history of their fight to become accepted as doctors. Should be enlightening :) Afterwards I want to nip into Aldis and get some Golden delicious apples as their offer finishes tonight.Fingers crossed they have some left.
Right I am now going to make myself a bowl of porridge as it looks as though winter is well on the way and porridge will warm me up and keep me going until lunch ,which will be HM carrot and coriander soup and cheese and crackers.Tonight's dinner will be my smoked peppered mackerel and salad and hopefully jelly and custard if the blooming jelly has finally set

Have a good day all and keep warm, wrapped up and safe

Lovely day here but cold. DH had to sit in the car with the engine running to defrost the windscreen before heading off to collect DGS. Must buy some de-icer.I stayed under the duvet as long as possible so we only passed in the hall. I won't be showered before they get back.

DS back from St Ives yesterday so called in for a meal and a chat. Cottage pie and apple crumble was wolfed down, They always go to St Ives for his girlfriend's birthday which is November 5th.

We have DGS this morning and then take him to nursery for 12.45. That would be our lot for this week but he has an early appointment at the eye hospital on Friday morning so Grampy has to go with them and take him back to nursery as his mummy is working afterwards.

Thank you for mentioning chicken which reminded me to liberate some for our dinner before I leave the house this morning.

Don't talk to me about chicken....Most of my dreams in the night involved me going to a non fancy dress party dressed as a chicken...A rooster no less with combs and everything. I'm not sure if it's a side effect of coming off the anti D's or whether it's because of the nasty infection I'm fighting at the moment in my kidneys. Might need to see the doctor if I can't shake it off quickly as my temperature is quite high.

    Anyway, morning all

A day off from doing anything today as I feel pretty rough. JackieO, thinking of Frank and hoping he remains pain free. Dumpling thinking of you too. Your daughter will be back with you before you know it.

Onwards and forwards but only a little bit as I'm ill

    Have a great day all

    Hi all.
Bit late today as Mr Fix It and I have been cooking up a storm with a few domestics in between ! Apparently my onion chopping was not to the desired rusticity . Anyway we have made a very large beef casserole which has filled the slow cooker and also made the Xmas cakes, two of which are still awaiting their turn in the oven.
As the weather is lovely today I stripped the bed first thing, then washed the bedding and another load which are now on the whirly. I shall have to bring it in soon as the sun is dipping below the tree line, it will be finished off indoors.
I have put the DW on and will wait for it to finish so that I can empty it and refill it. I have also washed up some utensils by hand. How come Mr Fix It can use every kitchen pot, pan and piece of cutlery :rotfl:.
Dad is coming to tea tonight and then my niece and family ( Mr Fix It's side ) are coming up to have their photos done for bus passes. The OH works for a bus company so they are allowed passes, but can't afford to have them done in a booth. Don't get me started on this one .
What did I say about elderly neighbour being OK, as an ambulance arrived last night and took her to hospital. She was giving them some stick though as she was being carried down the steps and wanted to know what the idea was that they were taking her out in the rain !
Right coffee break over so I must bring the washing in and then go and remake the bed.
Judi hope you are feeling better now.
TA glad you and Mr TA had a lovely time
Camelot and JackieO hope you are OK after your jabs.
Oh Specky Now I have this image of you with your nose pressed up against the window pane waiting for the ice cream van :rotfl:.
Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one .

It’s been a miserable day here, in every sense of the word.

The woodburner is not lit, the fire officer has been to fit replacement heat and smoke alarms, nPower data reader hasn’t been, my delivery via Hermes hasn’t been and I’m curled up on the sofa!

    Happy days :D

This is a really small MS win but I was incredibly pleased......we often eat homemade pizza and I always misjudge the flour needed for rolling out and throw loads away when cleaning the worktop after. Today there was none! I judged it ok, I was so proud..............I may need to get out more.
