PPI on lost Barclays Career Development Loan Account Number

Hi,
I wondered if anyone can help. Barclays are unable to trace the Career Development Loan I took out with them in 1999 to check for PPI. The loan was for £8,000 but I paid back £11,000 over about 6/7 years. However I have since found out the sort code of the branch where I took out the CDL. I have no paperwork or loan number. I know however that regular payments used to go out my Halifax current account which I closed around 2005. I know the acc number and sort code for this. My questions are
-Is it possible the Barclays branch in question may hold the CDL agreement / statements archived? If so how do I get them to look
-How do I order old statements from Halifax as I closed the account years ago, and will they have any on file ?

You would do a Subject Access Request in each case.
However, it is unlikely Barclays will have any records and the Halifax statements won't be of any use.0
