Catching a later flight? Cheaper?

I am looking to fly to Orlando and have found a cheaper flight leaving from Manchester but flying to London before flying to Orlando. There same flight straight from London is over £300 more. QUESTION... Can I book the Manchester flight but miss the leg to London and just catch the flight at the time scheduled to take off in London. Any advice great fully received.....

    Answer: no.
  • In short no. You have to start your journey on the first flight you book and use all your flights.
We flew to San Francisco last year (with BA) from Manchester via LHR and that was also £300 per person cheaper, fortunately we live in Sheffield.
  • No. If you miss the first leg all other flights on that ticket will be cancelled. If you want to fly from London then book your ticket from London.

As the previous 3 posters have stated, the answer to your question is no, for the reasons already given above.
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Or drive up to Manchester and fly from there to save a some cash. If there are a number of you going it will be worth it.

Or take the train direct to the railway station at the airport. If you are on your own, you could be quids in.

and if wondering how it can be more expensive than fewer flights...
there are direct MAN-MCO flights, an indirect flight (especially one that involves transferring from Heathrow to Gatwick) is more inconvenient and needs to be priced accordingly otherwise people will just book the direct flight
The price from London to MCO is a direct (convenient) flight so either looks at indirect flights from London or maybe Norwegian (include all he extras you need in the comparison)
Unless the arrival/departure are from the same London Airport I would not consider heading to Manchester for the saving (personal choice) but I would consider looking at flights via Dublin for pre clearance if there is a saving to be made (both £ and time at MCO)
  • Price up Dublin and Inverness as starting points.
