Thank you! Bless you all, you are a lovely bunch on here.
Electrics sorted, woodburner sorted and fireplace re-plastered. Just a small plumbing issue to sort now and we're done. Most of these are things we've lived with and have never caused a problem but we want to leave the house in the best state possible for the new people.
We ordered a new washing machine last night to be delivered to the new house on Sunday, went through Qu1dco for £7 cashback.
'Won' an 8ft dining table with chairs on eb@y for £132 and the seller also has a 4ft matching one for £50 that will be great in the breakfast room that then can be placed next to the big table in the main kitchen diner for bigger gatherings.Need to arrange collection for tomorrow.
Only two more sleeps in the old house! I'm working 'til lunch today and then off til monday.
Thanks again everyone.xNew Mortgage: £240 999 7/2/20 £ 205 000 Aug 23 Currently: £193 313 Jan 2025

Hello!
We are in!!As expected, Friday was chaos
but the memory and stress is fading now thankfully!
I have to say it's even more of a 'dream house' than I remembered as expected, I just love it and thank my lucky stars constantly. It is almost twice the size of our old house and the space feels amazing, not to mention the storage, I'm never going to fill it all.
Yesterday Mum and Sis came to help clear the playroom which was about 3ft deep in boxes,we went through everything and sent it to it's rightful home and a lot to the garage to be stored/disposed of (boxes from the move etc.) So that was the last room to be organised and it looks much better now.
Our room still needs some drawers and we are collecting some bought on the Bay on Friday morning, that will give a home to the small pile of stuff in that room.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how warm the house is, being a detached with mainly two external walls bordering each room, I worried it would be cold. Upstairs seems well insulated and holds the heat well and the main area downstairs has a fabulous wood burner that keeps the whole room really cosy. We need to change the gas fire in the lounge to a wood burner but we find we're spending all our time in the kitchen/diner/snug room where it's lovely and warm.
Now all we need to do is pay off this enormous mortgage that we've acquired, the letter yesterday said something like £241200Payments will be just over £938 per month so I think the first thing to do will be to round up to £1000. I need to investigate how H@lifax OPs work.
Finally, just wanted to say a huge thanks to all of you who have cheered me on and cheered me up, it's been a long journey (12 months to the day on Friday since we first viewed) but we're here so thank you! WF.x
