Dorothy perkins .com

I have always bought my dresses from dorothy perkins as I think the fit and quality is good. Last Friday I came home to a parcel in my porch. I was looking forward to seeing the skater dress I ordered as it's a near replica of a reiss one. Oh no it was a different dress from the tall collection in a size 14. I'm a 12 and only 5ft 5. I contacted their customer services who told me the dress I wanted is only available in sizes 14,16 and 22. They said the dress I had been sent was from last year's tall collection and couldn't possibly have been sent. I paid with paypal and I contacted them. Paypal said don't worry your covered if the item isn't as described. I sent the dress back to dorothy perkins.com via the post office on Saturday morning. I understand everyone has their off day and the order and packing staff are no doubt rushed off their feet approaching the party season.it looks like I will have to reorder in a size 14 then take the dress to my local dry cleaners to have it altered to a size 12.

I would check the likely cost of the alterations first as it could easily be higher than the price of the dress. The Reiss dress might end up being only a little more than an altered, cheap copy.

Reiss dresses are far more expensive than Dorothy Perkins, who might do a cheap knock off but it's not going to be the same quality wise and the cut will not be the same. You're never going to pass off a DP dress as one from Reiss.

Sometimes items are mislabelled in the warehouse. These things happen, life goes on.

The reiss dress is £235. The DP dress is now £16.99 reduced from £26. At the most a alteration would be £20, therefore a big saving. Of course I know reiss is going to be better fabric etc. But I can't justify buying designer clothes. The only time I bought high end was a lk bennett dress on ebay. I like cute dresses to wear on weekends out. The insurance company I work for provides a staff uniform similar to post office counter staff.
  • Not sure why people were mentioning the quality of the dresses when you said you shop at Dorothy Perkins a lot! I'm glad you managed to get it sorted (:
Not sure if you've never heard of everything5pounds.com but I've found a dress there when the shop was sold out! There was a dress in New Look which didn't have my size and a month later it was on everything5pounds! in my size too!! You never know they might have something for you too :)
