Hi all,
Probably the answer is yes but is it better to wait til Black Friday to buy a new laptop and a phone (S8)?
The current laptop I want is less than £500 and I am not sure how to get the best deal for a phone, another thread in this forum had useful advice of looking on USwitch.

The main requirements are:
- Buy a laptop that is good spec and can do some programming
- A decent S8 phone with around 5GB monthly data allowance.

Well as you've only got 2 1/2 weeks to wait, or less for Aamazon, I'd say waiting was a no-brainer.0

If Flagship phones or TV's are offered they are usually in very small quantities to drag people in.
Black Friday is no different to any other sale, designed to reduce stock, so mainly older items.
That said, you may be lucky with an S8, but, get online asap on the 24th.
I bought a couple of things last year, but found that if I wanted a TV, for example, I could get many, but, if I wanted a particular current model, there was no chance.

I'm cynical when it comes to Black Friday. Make sure you research what you want to buy to see if it really is a good deal.0

They just flog off the tat0

Thanks.
Are there any particular sites I should visit frequently for Black Friday to get this?0 -
Any site that sells electricals/tech will jump on the bandwagon.
Even the big ones like John Lewis, Argos etc.
Just pick a couple now that have what you want and keep checking.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Don't get your hopes up too high for black Friday in the UK, odds are you won't be jumping up a significant performance tier in any area.0

Sigh
No they do not.
I remember getting around £100 limited number deal off an IX500 fast document scanner on amazon black Friday a few years back
It current retails at around £350 - as is most definitely not tat.0 -

Agreed, it's not 'Tat'. As I said before, Flagship stuff is difficult (though not impossible) to obtain, but, the rest is perfectly good quality and well worth the hunt on line for what you want.
I draw the line at the mob scuffles seen in large stores, although they are becoming rarer...
I bought a nice Samsung TV last year for someone. It was a model that had only just been replaced. Price before black Friday around £900 - £1000, price during £195..... You can still buy it for around £600.:)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Black Friday just a marketing con. Take ASDA with their piles of cheap Polaroid TVs stacked up at the entrance. Wheres the discounts on the Samsungs and Sonys? That's right there isn't any.0
