UKCPS debt recovery notice

Hi all,
I know UKCPS crop up an awful lot on here, and most of you are probably sick of answering about them, so apologies.
I received a ticket on my windscreen at total fitness in Huddersfield for parking in a disabled bay on 15 of August. I have since ignored everything that has come through the door. Today I received a letter saying it has been transferred to their debt recovery department.
I have only today managed to find the newbies thread and I have read through it but I haven’t made any contact with UKCPS, as the time scale is quite long now am I best just continuing to ignore the letters, to pay the £160 (£100 for offence and £60 for admin) or to appeal?
Any advice would be brilliant.
Thank you

You are too late to do anything else except wait and see if they proceed to court action.

Ignore everything except court correspondence or a letter before court action.
  • In terms of court will they continue to increase if I don’t pay or will it be fixed at this price even if it does go to court?

You only pay anything if you lose in court.

That would involve slightly more cost than the 160 they are trying to get out of you now
  • Ok,
I’ve just looked on their website to try pay online to see if it’s saying anything different to their letters and it’s saying there isn’t even a ticket outstanding up the ticket number that’s written on the ticket and the letters. So even if I wanted to pay online I can’t because there’s nothing under that ticket number.

They will add more charges up to £300, but costs are capped and they are unlikely to get more than £200 if they win, which is unlikely anyway.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

    Thank you

They CANNOT transfer to a debt collector.
They can ask a debt collector to chase you .. big difference

Anyways, any debt collector involved in the great
parking scam is worth it's weight in used toilet paper

    IGNORE DEBT COLLCTORS
DO NOT PAY A DEBT COLLECTOR
DO NOT TALK TO A DEBT COLLECTOR
ALL LETTERS TO BE TREATED AS JUNK MAIL
  • I have ignored what’s come through the door, now getting letters from drp and they are have sent a notice of intended court action. The charge is still £160, should I continue to ignore these letters? I’ve noticed that they are also spelling my name incorrectly on the letters

DRP are simply timewasters, they cannot take you
to court .... you will have received the normal junk from
DRP which mainly consist of lies.

We know that DRP are a useless powerless company
    and DRP know that to.
Let them waste their time, they will give up and tell the
    parking company they failed.
    All part of the scam.

If the PPC comes back to you or one of their junky legals
    then come back here
The extra £60 is the scammers addon ... so ignore it

NEVER CONTACT DRP unless you want to talk
    to a baboon

If this is a proper letter before court action then follow the advice in the newbies faq thread (#2) on rebutting lbccas.
